Recent Achievements:

  • Kristi House awarded two major grants from the National Children's Alliance for enhancing its mental health program with a deep South Dade office and a dedicated Haitian therapist position, January 2010
  • Programs Director Ruthlyn Webster chosen as one of seven fellows for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Evaluation Fellows Program for Retooling Professionals in partnership with the OMG Center for Collaborative Learning and Duquesne University, 2010
  • Kristi House awarded one of three grants in the country by U.S. Department of Justice Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention for Addressing the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children, October 2009.
  • Kristi House received one of three Urban Initiative grants from National Children's Alliance for its commercially sexually exploited children's program, Jan. 2009
  • Kristi House received two other major grants from National Children's Alliance for its Therapy program, Jan. 2009
  • Kristi House chosen as one of 15 delegates from the United States to join nearly 3,000 people from five continents in Brazil for the World Congress III against the Sexual Exploitation of Children, November 2008

  • Community Service Award for 2007 for Trudy Novicki from the Melissa Institute for Violence Prevention and Treatment
  • Kristi House receives The Sapphire Award from The Blue Foundation for outstanding health services to underserved communities, Dec. 2006
  • Kristi House’s Executive Director received The Melissa Institute for Violence Prevention and Treatment Social Services Award for 2007, and was awarded a scholarship to attend Harvard Business School’s Executive Education Program in July 2006.
  • Assistant Executive Director Dawn Thompson received The Rochelle Goodwin Memorial Award for outstanding contributions in direct service to child victims, 2006
  • Program Director Ruthlyn Webster received Fordham University’s coveted award for outstanding social work practice, the Ralph DeMayo Alumni Award from the Graduate School of Social Work, 2005.
