Medical Exams

Because a medical exam for sexual abuse can be extremely traumatic for a child, we have designed and furnished a special examination room complete with all necessary medical supplies and geared to a child’s special needs.

The forensic medical examination process was developed by the Children’s Advocacy Center Multidisciplinary Team of partners. Non-acute medical examinations for children under 12 are conducted at the Orlowitz-Lee Child Advocacy Center by pediatrician specialists from the University of Miami Child Protection Team. Acute cases are seen at the Roxcy Bolton Rape Treatment Center in the Jackson Medical Complex.
