Kristi House is celebrating a milestone year in 2015: Twenty years of healing the hearts of children who have been sexually abused. An event befitting 20 years of service is in the works: a Roaring 20s Soiree, to be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Miami’s Four Seasons.

This elegant evening will have all the hallmark features of Kristi House’s long-running, signature Touch a Heart Dinner – great cuisine, great wine and a luxury auction – with live orchestra music, dancing, cigars and brandy to cap off the evening…a roaring good time! The event co-chairs are Maria Maloof and Kara Zeder, both board members of Kristi House, who are leading a team dedicated to creating a festive night to be remembered for supporters and friends of Kristi House. The Honorary Wine Committee includes some of South Florida’s top collectors and wine aficionados, and is being headed up by Sue Gallagher, Kate Callahan and Peter Benjamin.

The Four Seasons’ Chef Aaron has created a scrumptious, five-course gourmet dinner menu and Republic National Distributing Company will be providing fine wine pairings and spirits befitting the 1920s era. An auction is in the works with exclusive trips, one-of-a-kind experiences, not-available-in-stores fine wines and select luxury items.

Tickets are $500 per person; $5,000 for a table of 10. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here, or contact Kristi House Development Director Natalie Brown at 305-547-6832 or nbrown@krisitihouse.org

Funds raised at the Roaring 20s Soiree will go toward providing services for sexually abused children and their families. Sadly, childhood sexual abuse is not limited by socio-economic status, race, religion or nationality, however most of the children and families Kristi House treats are low income and would have no other place to turn to for help. The Roaring 20s Soiree proceeds will help ensure that services remain free so that all child-victims get the help they need.

Kristi House, Inc., a 501c3 organization, serves as the Children’s Advocacy Center for all of Miami-Dade County, and is dedicated to providing a healing environment for child victims of sexual abuse and their families. This approach includes coordinating client families’ involvement with legal, medical and mental health systems, limiting the number of interviews to reduce the trauma associated with each retelling of the story, and ensuring that no child falls through the cracks. Kristi House directly provides a full continuum of wrap-around services and care for victims and their families free of charge, including therapy, which is critical for recovery from the trauma of sexual abuse for most survivors. Project GOLD is Kristi House’s program to address the special needs of commercially sexually exploited children.

Kristi House is centrally located in the “Health District” area of Miami at 1265 NW 12 Avenue. Three satellite locations in other parts of Miami-Dade County serve clients in surrounding neighborhoods. Founded in 1995, Kristi House has helped more than 13,750 children and their families recover from the trauma of child sexual abuse and exploitation, and has provided education and training classes to more than 100,000 adults, children and professionals.
