On Mother's Day May 9, 270 Kristi House friends and supporters came out with their families for a day aboard Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas. Guests enjoyed a champagne reception, luncheon and ice show, all underwritten by Royal Caribbean to benefit sexually abused children.

On April 23, 2010, 350 supporters and new friends came together for Kristi House's 4th Annual Breaking the Silence luncheon. Guests learned about the Kristi House program and heard survivor testimonials as part of the event sponsored by Leon Medical Centers with Lourdes Leon Vega as Honorary Chair.

The 10th Anniversary Kristi House Touch a Heart Dinner & Auction was a sold-out success chaired by Katie Lane-Arriola and Libby Witherspoon of BNY Mellon Wealth Management on November 6th at Miami’s Four Seasons Hotel. Outstanding sponsors and an auction of exquisite wines, luxury gifts and exclusive getaways, made this a spectacular fundraising evening.

More than 250 friends of Kristi House came out to support Breaking the Silence of child sexual abuse on April 30 at Grove Isle Hotel & Spa hosted by Leon Medical Centers. More than $320,000 in gifts and 5-year pledges were made.

On March 13th Kristi House and Avalon Café in Coconut Grove hosted a happy hour to benefit the client emergency fund and therapy. Two hundred friends of Kristi House raised $18,000 to help sexually abused kids and their families. Underwriters included Dr. Ary Krau, Michele D. Morales, West Broward Church of God, Cinergy Health, Florida House Representative Juan C. Zapata, Luuxury, and Oscar Levin of Greenberg Traurig, P.A.

Hundreds of votive candles, white roses and hydrangeas greeted 300 guests with an ambiance of sparkling, understated elegance perfect for the five-course gourmet meal and wine pairings. The 9th Annual Kristi House Touch a Heart Dinner & Auction was a sold-out success netting $300,000 on November 7th at Miami’s Four Seasons Hotel.

Saturn and celebrity photographer Linda Solomon worked with Kristi House children on photographing their images representing hope. These poignant photos vividly depict children's dreams and aspirations. Friends and supporters of Kristi House enjoyed an exclusive day on the deck of Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas while docked at the Port of Miami. “A Taste of Liberty” was completely underwritten by Royal Caribbean International. Guests were treated to a cocktail reception followed by a fabulous ice skating show and lunch in the Liberty’s gorgeous Rembrandt Dining Room.

Kristi House hosted a conference July 28-29 covering investigative, interview and intervention techniques for high risk child victims of prostitution and trafficking. Sgt. Byron Fassett and Cathy de La Paz of the Dallas Police Department High Risk Victims and Trafficking Unit lead the training attended by local police and social services professionals.

The Fresh Market hosted an evening of fine wine and scrumptious hors d'oeuvres at their beautiful Coconut Grove, Florida store. Nearly 200 guests enjoyed samplings of wines from Southern Wine & Spirits and delicious food prepared by the Fresh Market chefs. All funds went to support child victims of sexual abuse.

200 friends of Kristi House showed their support for breaking the silence of child sexual abuse at the annual luncheon, April 23, 2008, which raised $311,000 in gifts and pledges for sexually abused children.

Nelson David Diaz and Becker Poliakoff law firm hosted Speaker of the House Marco Rubio for a Kristi House reception.

Kristi House supporters helped raise a record amount of funds for children who are victims of sexual abuse at the annual Touch a Heart event at Four Seasons, Nov. 9, 2007.

On October 12th Kristi House and Sports Club/LA hosted a happy hour to benefit the client emergency fund. Nearly $5,000 was raised to help sexually abused kids and their families.

On September 27, Kristi House and Touch Restaurant & Lounge hosted another successful Hispanic Initiative event raising close to $5,000 for sexually abused children and their families.

On August 31, 2007, Best of Publications, Kristi House and Shake-A-Leg Miami celebrated the launch of the first edition of Best of Publications’ The Best of Dining & Entertainment in Coconut Grove. The first ever, full-color dining & entertainment guide features the best of everything that Coconut Grove has to offer. On top of getting their first edition printed and distributed, Best of Publications donated all proceeds from the evening to two local charities, Kristi House and Shake-A-Leg Miami.

Kristi House hosted another successful event at St. John Bal Harbour Boutique in the Shops of Bal Harbour, July 26. Event hostesses and best friends Marivel and Kristi House Board Member, Kate Inman partnered with St. John Bal Harbour Boutique to host an elegant evening of cocktails and private shopping. Special thanks to Pate Fine Food who provided the delicious appetizers.

On July 25, the Conrad Miami and Miami Today News hosted Kristi House staff at the Conrad Hotel for a staff appreciation lunch. Kristi House was the recipient of a grant awarded by the Conrad and Miami Today and chose to recognize the staff, especially those that have been with Kristi House for at least 5 years. Thanks to the Conrad and Miami Today, the event was a lot of fun for all that attended.

On May 2, 2007 Kristi House celebrated the South Satellite Office with an Open House for donors, staff and members of the University of Miami’s Child Protection Team. These photos show what the office looked like before volunteers from Kaufman, Rossin & Co. gave it its makeover. Other south office/therapy donors included Jim Moran Foundation, Peacock Foundation, Joseph H. And Florence A. Roblee Foundation, Paul Palank Memorial Foundation and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.

On May 2-3, 2007, Kristi House hosted a community training in Trauma-Focused Therapy, an evidenced-based treatment for children who have experienced sexual abuse or other serious traumatic events. The training was led by expert Esther Deblinger.
