This workshop provides a basic overview of commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC), the extent of the problem and the impact this type of trauma has on children. It also includes tips for identifying and engaging victims and discussion of services victims need for healing and reintegration into mainstream society. The material is offered in lecture form through a PowerPoint presentation and videos. Group participation is encouraged. Participants will examine the following topics:

  • What is the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC)
  • CSEC Risk Factors
  • Addressing Demand
  • Identification of CSEC Victims
  • Impact of CSEC and Needs of Victims
  • Tips for service provision (customized for the audience)

This course is approved by the State of Florida to fulfill the three-hour, in-person training required of those working with human trafficking victims. There is no cost to attend, however participants must RSVP at least 3 days ahead of time at this link. There is parking at the lot on which Kristi House sits; it is controlled by Miami-Dade County and parking is $10 per  car.
