The South Dade C-START CommunityBased Learning Collaborative (CBLC) is a project of the Safe Families Partnership Network in partnership with Kristi House and with major funding support from Health Foundation of South Florida. The Collaborative is designed to build the capacity of the participating professionals to provide effective, evidence-supported treatment to abused children and youth and their families.
Participating child abuse professionals will work together to learn and implement TF-CBT in their communities so that it is available to every abused and traumatized child who needs it. Mental health professionals will learn to do TF-CBT with a high degree of skill and fidelity to the treatment model. Non-clinical “broker” professionals will learn about TF-CBT and learn and implement Evidence-Based Treatment Planning and Case Management for Treatment Success skills. Together, Clinicians and Brokers from participating communities will work as community change teams to identify and overcome barriers to the implementation and sustained use of TF-CBT in their communities.
Participants who complete all the South Dade C-START CBLC learning activities will receive a Certificate of Completion and will be listed in the Kristi House C-START roster of trained professionals. This training will count toward required continuing education hours for licensed mental health professionals (24 hours of continuing education credit).
